Not sure if anyone can help - if I book a business premier ticket from CHC to LAX via AKL, am I able to use the domestic lounge at CHC before departure on the domestic leg? I'm not a Koru Club member. I seem to recall I have done this before, but a while ago and it's possible the lounge access rules have changed in the meantime! Air NZ website doesn't seem to provide a clear answer!

Awesome - thank you! I'd prefer to know that turn up and suffer the indignity of being refused entry!

Speaking of lounges, it's probably a long shot, but is anybody going to be at Auckland Domestic airport next Tuesday (around 6am) that could get me into the lounge as a guest please? smile

Are you flying on a AirNZ ticket?

Yes but you might have to suffer some indignity.

The ticket may not check you into the lounge but once you point out your business class connection you will be let in

Actually if you just point it out first, before scanning then your potential indignity would be minimized.

You are entitled to lounge access in CHC on this outbound flight. Assuming you are flying BP back you will not however be entitled to access at AKL domestic flying back to CHC.

Thanks Steve - that's interesting, why no access on the return leg? Seems inconsistent (and the fare/ticket is from Chc to Rar return)?

Lounge access as part of a business premier fare is an entitlement before the flight, not after it.

As you're on a connecting flight you're entitled to lounge access in CHC and AKL, but as you're only connecting back to CHC on a domestic economy flight there is no entitlement.

My in laws got into the lounge on the domestic connection after the business leg. In akl and wtg in fact. Coming back from rarotonga. But yes there was a bit of indignity as the tickets were did not scan through. But they got let in. Ymmv
