One thing we noticed, and I am unsure if it's related, but I NEVER suffer Vertigo, EVER, but my wife does, quite easily. BOTH of us had dizziness all of last night after being on the 787-9. I am unsure what that is about. We didn't get much sleep the night we flew before the flight, but that hasn't been an issue before.

Anyone else noticed anything similar?

Interesting, I have been a bit "foggy" post flight this week, I wonder if the cabin pressure is different on these bigger planes. To be honest usually coming back into Auckland I get pressure headaches but didn't even have a twinge on landing this time so maybe there is something different.

You mean cabin pressure is much higher? Lower altitude, higher pressure.

Nope. The biggest selling feature is the fuel burn....

Closely followed by Electro-chromatic windows.... ;-)

Went over on the 767 (Friday PM departure). The morning arrival prob took an hour all up (shuttle, baggage, customs) we weren't in a rush. My poor wife didn't take to sleeping so had 30 mins or so the whole flight made for a slow start.

We were on the same flight back as you, NZ9 on the 787-9. Both upgraded to premium economy. Was great, had bulkhead so plenty of room. Loved the window shades. Seat was comfy and spacious (I'm 6'4").

IFE was good, responsive and a good selection. Usually I just load the iPad and do my own thing.

Well worth adding a couple of days to the holiday to fly on the 787.

I absolutely detest 777's and can't wait until they are gone.

I'm flying to LA in July but can't recall which plane. It's Air NZ and I know we were chuffed to at least bag one of the two seat pairs at the back for both outward and return.

Will be interesting to see if we regret it or not. There sure will be enough time for regrets if we do, the trip is scheduled to take 16 hours.

I absolutely detest 777's and can't wait until they are gone.

I flew 777 Emirates SYD to DXB via BKK and the economy seat was so uncomfortable I was almost in tears by the end of the flight. Every time I shifted, I moaned in agony and it felt like my butt muscles were peeling off my hip bones! I think it took me at least a week before I could sit down without pain.

Emirates pioneered the super cramped 3-4-3 777 seat plan. Everybody else just followed.

Don't fly economy is my motto.

Air NZ's business class offering is getting a little dated now and I'm surprised they've stuck with the Virgin seats for so long. It is still a great product, but with many airlines offering business class seats based around the BAE Super Diamond and first class suites based around a mini pod concept the reverse herringbone offering looks tired.

I'm not even that comfortable in AirNZ's 777 premium economy. Obviously it's significantly better than economy, but if you have long legs you end up with very limited room for your feet. Of course if you do have long legs you probably have large feet.

On the other hand if your legs are not long enough, the seat is very long and my back nearly and snapped after 4 hours in airnz premium economy

Make sure you get to the airport EARLY when you are going back though:

TSA is falling apart

And The TSA is a waste of money that doesn't save lives and might actually cost them

Love the (lack of) airport security for domestic flights here in NZ!

On what plane? I love the Spaceseat on the 77W but it's a highly polarising product with basically 50% of people loving it and 50% hating it.

I haven't flown PE on the 77R refit (I've only flown on it pre refit) or 789 yet as I've always skipped past PE. I do have a flight to HKG in PE on the 77R next month to try it out.
