My anti jet lag tip is to drink all the booze. I know 99% of travel experts and medical professionals disagree with this strategy, but I swear by it. I then sleep like a baby and wake up feeling perfect at the other end!

Agreed, I did a completely unscientific experiment on one return trip to Europe and found that being mildly hungover and dehydrated on arrival was a whole heap better than being sleep-deprived.

Recently I've used sleeping tablets - take one tablet when the after-dinner movie has about an hour to run then enjoy 6-7 hours of sleep before landing.

Myself, I would opt for Premium Economy and 5 days stopover en route.

Go and see the GP and get Zopiclor or whatever they prescribe.

Then take it to get your sleep pattern where it should be. I find it works brilliantly.

We went to London a couple of times on Cathay Pacific via HK. There is a bit of waste time at HK airport but Cathay had 1st or 2nd landing slot at Heathrow in the morning. We were out of the airport and at friends in a south east suburb by 8.30am. If you got any sleep on the plane you could do a normal day and slot into local time ok.

The Novotel Hong Kong Citygate hotel at Hong Kong airport is an excellent place for a stopover. There is fast train to the city in the basement of the shopping mall the hotel is connected to and free shuttles to/from the airport.

Economy wins!
We weren't able to break down the flights to get Business on selected flights and going all in was going to "break the bank just a tad"

Now to research sleeping pills
