Stu:

That seems common for cruise lines where the cruise is originating from AU/NZ ports, and (I believe) you book from NZ or AU (as we're not generally countries that do the whole tipping thing).

Only some of the AU/NZ cruise lines do the no-tipping thing, as you say - because that's part of our culture. Principally it is Princess, P&O and any others in their group.

I've got several friends who point-blank refuse to cruise because the one and only cruise they did was a tipping-expected cruise line, and the cruise was from Australia.

If they are charged to your account, you can usually request prepaid gratuities are removed. If it's not clear in boarding documentation, the passenger services desk will be able confirm and make changes if required.

Yep, good to know and many don't know it. Glad it's being brought up here so others can realise the flexibility

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

Is it worth getting a water package for the 3 night comedy cruise or are we ok with water from the restaurants?

There are water coolers at the restaurants and bars, you just help yourself. You're not supposed to fill bottles from them (they don't want bottle necks that you may have been drinking from/touched coming into contact with the taps/nozzles on the water coolers. I did see people filling up bottles from glasses they poured water into.

The water package gives you 6 or 12 (can't remember how many) 1.5L bottles in your cabin. I guess it depends how much water you plan on drinking.

We didnt bother with any drinks packages on our comedy cruise - had the dozen cans of soft drink we were allowed anyway, and as mentioned, water coolers etc are around the place.
