If you follow the links to check your validation, it's very interesting to see where they group the UK for the risk category:

 

 

The UK is definately not in the Europe category for all the policies I looked at. It always used to be, but I guess that is one of the consequences of BREXIT. As we have a reciprical medical agreement with the UK, I thought it would have been in one of the lower risk categories.

It’s really interesting seeing how people navigate credit card insurance vs standalone policies. As a private tour operator running itineraries across the North Island, we always remind our guests to check the fine print on their card policies—especially regarding private transport charters, custom itinerary cancellations, or luxury vehicle transfers. Some cards have surprisingly low caps on independent tour operator bookings if something unexpected happens before arrival. Definitely pays to double-check before relying on it exclusively for a big trip!
