freitasm: Yes you can use LAX with Koru.

I never go through LAX anymore anyway. Vancouver is my port of entry for Canada....and the US has little appeal, especially now the police shoot you if you call them and Trump in the White House.

Koru doesn't get you into the Maple Leaf Lounge in Vancouver......unfortunately.

As per sbiddle's comment, Koru will get you in if you're on an AirNZ flight, but you're not missing much. The YVR terminal is pretty nice anyway and not crowded at the time NZ23 departs.

A few weeks back I was in the wellington lounge and the sausages they were serving had gone off. They still cooked them. Disgusting really

So you absolutely sure they were 'off' and were cooked regardless? If so you need to immediately make a formal complaint to AirNZ and/or alert WCC Environmental Health Officer.

The AC lounge is also undergoing an upgrade at present.

I know exactly what you mean.

Sausages cooked the way Koru lounge cook them (a token browning and then into steam cooking) often taste (strongly) off.

Although they have had enough time and temperature to be cooked from a food safety perspective, they haven't reached a high enough internal temperature to change the properties of the meat.

Hotel breakfast buffet sausages are often the same ...

I have been in Koru Club for a while and agree with the comments people have made about declining quality versus the cost.  I got an idea where it's going to end when a staff member in the Christchurch lounge told me that the change away from White Tie to Compass for catering was to "provide a consistent experience across all the lounges".  Given that the changes are to reduce costs and improve profits, last year I decided to follow the money and bought shares in the company.  I spent slightly less than $5000 and the dividend payments mean that Koru membership now costs $280 per year.  The actual dividend payments are higher than this, but the $280 figure is after I take account of the interest I would have got if I had left the money in the bank.

I also agree with the comments people made about children in the lounge.  They are way better behaved than their parents.

Great.
Compass catering was been such a great success in Dunedin hospital.

was to "...provide a consistent experience across all ...".

That quote seems to be used a lot by companies these days.

"Consistently poor" was the expression they meant to use but forgot to...!

OOI has anyone made an official customer service complaint regarding the food and if so, what was the response?

I'm probably pretty close to about 40 Air NZ flights so far this year, 99% of which would have had Koru visits and I've never had a reason to complain.

I've always personally thought in the past that the food in Koru Lounge Wellington was better than Auckland, but having said that, I haven't flown anywhere in about the last 10 months, so it might all be the same now.

My only complaint is that Auckland Koru doesn't have L&P any longer. That's more of a first world issue.

One day I will have to find out what you do for a living to do all this flying...!

Purely anecdotally I would say that the food when my wife first had Koru ( I used to go with her) in about 2005 was better than it is now at Wellington and Auckland domestic.

He's a Geekzone moderator. With all the people complaining about the ads we run one would think we all fly Emirates First Class around the world three times a year.
