freitasm: Has anyone received anything about what's the cash back rate on these new BNZ cards? Or a link to this information please?

Nothing but I'm preparing my exodus from BNZ's credit card anyhow. The fish were good but not anymore sadly...

I've moved CC to kiwibank. It's bit more first world pain because in the past it was CC, EFTPOS, ATM on one card (and for some reason everywhere i visit has a BNZ ATM and nothing else). Hopefully kiwibank will allow linking CC and EFTPOS.

jeffnz: I have a globalplus with BNZ but was looking to change it for a low rate of home advantage as I don't get a lot of airpoints anyway but I can always use the Flybuys CC and convert over so not a biggie for me.

Oh, oh... It looks like you can't convert FlyBuys to Airpoints anymore, only if you have a Flybuys Business account. Time to start using the Onesmart card instead.

Do you mean collecting Airpoints Dollars™ at Fly Buys partners with your Airpoints membership card or something different? 1 Airpoints Dollar for every 5.95 Fly Buy point, don't know how that compares to the old conversion rate, probably the same?

Converting Flybuys points to Airpoints was an option in my account but had the disclaimer it was only possible with GlobalPlus cards.

Since my BNZ GlobalPlus is now changed to whatever is the new name that option is no longer available in my account.

I can use FlyBuys to book an Air NZ flight but can't convert one point to another.

I don't know how you collect Fly Buys, but just pointing out, if you didn't know and it wasn't what you were referring to in your previous post, that you can collect Airpoints Dollars using your airpoints card (which has a special Fly Buys number). The rate is the same as the conversion rate previously, so you could switch to collecting Airpoints Dollars instead of Fly Buys.

Hence my reference to going back to using my OneSmart in my previous post.

Hence my question "Do you mean collecting Airpoints Dollars™ at Fly Buys partners with your Airpoints membership card or something different?". I wasn't sure if you were referring to the same thing (since it's not really a function of the OneSmart account).

Your subsequent reply didn't really answer my questions or clarify my misunderstanding, so I followed it up and now we're going in circles. Good to know we're talking about the same thing, maybe someone else will have learnt something, anyway. smile

I used my FlyBuys card to collect points and transfer to Airpoints because I liked the option of sometimes getting something from Flybuys.

Since the GlobalPlus brand disappeared the points transfer is no longer available in my FlyBuys account.

I am going back to using the OneSmart as my FlyBuys card, to automatically collect Airpoints when buying at FlyBuys partners - this is the automatic points transfer, not the rebate points you collect when purchasing things with your OneSmart card balance.

I only use the OneSmart card balance for some online purchases.

I hope this gives a clearer picture?

The whole flybuys v airpoints has been confusing since NW come along.

I've not had an actual flybuys card for donkeys. To this day I still use my original green master ANZ airpoints card, which has a flybuys number and barcode on it. Koru logo, small fluybuys (added bonus) in the corner.
Then they sent out the onesmart to replace it. Shelved and never activated. The confusing part - the green card still earns them on my monthly spends, but has a different number to the onesmart (go figure)

Enter New World.

Go and presumably get your details from either ANZ or Flybuys and send you out a new world card, which can collect either if you prefer. With yet ANOTHER airpoints/flybuys relationship.

I now only use this to gain the specials in-store, With the added bonus of them going into what I thought was a flybuys with conversion.. but now I'll need to make sure the clubcard is set for airpoints.

I stopped getting regular points a long time ago on Fly Buys because I could never find anything I wanted. Like Mauricio I only use my Onesmart card for Fly Buys which means all points collected go directly to Airpoints. Of course the award rate is pretty low so it takes a long time to get any miles but it's better than nothing.  It doesn't impact my shopping choice much though since our family regularly shops at both NW and Countdown.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Why not just give over your AirNZ Airpoints Card (As its a Flybuys card as well) instead of your Normal  Flybuys card and the points will be automatically converted to AirNZ Points every month.

You just cannot use your Flybuys card to get points and then convert them over yourself at the end of the month.

The conversion rate used to be better. OneSmart was $1=5.95 points, flybuys was 5.65=$1

Every little counts I guess.
