Am I just posting the same link over and over again? I can't tell anymore.
It does look dodgy. What happened with John Banks over his splitting donations to go under the threshold? All I can recall is that he could not remember anything for some reason.

All politicians have a very rare condition called Selective Amnesia

Wasn't that also recently the subject of allegations against National?
I just have a couple of comments;
The threshold was probably decided in times of writing a manual ledger, there's no real impediment to logging details of all donations these days on a database. They do this in the USA, you can search every donation, but few care.
It's probably futile, the "mainstream media" is dying, Google or Facebook show zero true interest in vetting political ads, look what Russia achieved in the USA at minimal cost. Conventional political advertising was beaten by targeted news stories featuring dog-whistling - so not even political ads or donations, nothing to declare.

I have no idea. My comments are about NZ First. I don't see what their funding arrangements have to do with New Zealand First's.

This thread is about the Coalition. Should any posts be made that place them in a negative light (no issue with that), it needs balance. Fred merely states that potential donation dodgyness is not NZF's sole domain. If it has appeared for the other parties, then its a fake post, as what you are implying is that this potential dodgyness is centred on one area of Government, where in actual fact its centered on all parties.
Balance

I agree. Which don't though? Are these selective amnesia MP's linked to any one party? Or not?

Sure, this thread is about the Coalition, so should the Prime Minister distance herself from all this and merely say she is not going to question or take any interest in the possibility of "illegal" activity on the part of NZ First? If the allegations are proven, should there be a snap election so that the people can decide whether NZ First should stay in office?

Has there been any snap elections in the past for donation issues? Peters says the foundation is not the party. If Adern got into this, thats interference, it needs to wait till someone decrees that the foundation IS the NZF party, then the brown stuff can hit the fan for NZF and also from Adern. I haven't recalled National jumping into this bandwagon yet. If National see NZF as an ally in 2020, they will want to keep quiet. So it may well be that both Labour and National are playing the same keep quiet game, for the same selfish reasons. Votes exceed corruption

So in other words "I'm not going to comment until XYZ process has happened". Jeez, where have we heard that before? Something about a report that was four weeks away three months ago?

I can read. My point about Ardern deferring to independent inquiries as a means of avoiding scrutiny over anything of actual consequence still stands. If the 'four weeks from early September' sexual assault report that is still outstanding is anything to go by, it is just a means to put distance between her and actual issues that require leadership while she takes questions from Stephen Colbert and the Guardian instead.
