ajobbins: Bigots make me shudder and feel ill, much as the gays make you feel. Bigotry is icky and wrong (IMHO). however I do not seek to deny you the right to marry the one you love if you choose to do so (or anything else for that matter).

One example of bigotry: Westboro Baptist Church.

Years ago "good" people didn't want women to vote.

Years ago "good" people wanted black people to sit in the back of the bus.

Times change. "Good" people have to change.

BraaiGuy: I know this is slightly off topic. But anybody here thought of Incest. Surely brothers and sisters that want to marry and have children have the same rights?

I would have given it a thought if they have spoken up and demanded their rights based on valid points.

So in your opinion two brothers getting married and adopting children is natural?

No, he said he would give it a thought, as in he would consider it, weigh the pros and cons, take in consideration what scientists have to say about genetics and then issue his opinion - which would influence how the government deal with it.

He didn't say he supports it.

scientifically, i dont think an incestuous couple should be allowed to breed...   its well known to create genetic anomolies.

applying the same argument as that for gay marraige, however, i dont see any reason why they shouldnt be allowed to marry, and perhaps adopt children...

And this again is gold, lesbian monkeys get it on when males are around. But again I know the responses will be like "They are animals, we are humans" or "Animals will do anything that feels nice" etc etc etc...

Lesbian mothers taking care of pups (living together parents) Same sex marriage in Nature :D

BraaiGuy:
So yes I see gay relationships as unnatural. Its got nothing to do with the way I was brought up, or my religion. Maybe its just that part of me that shudders when I see two guys together, makes me ill. (Sorry if that offends, but its how I feel) And I know that many heterosexual men feel the same. Allowing gay marriage is not going to solve the problem about society not accepting it.  Many people including myself will never accept it.

Just my view. Go on shoot me down ...

If it happens in Nature, it's natural. Try using a different word.

Have you provided any evidence that there is no choice?

Provide evidence you (and/or straight people) chose to be straight?

Just because there are incidences of it happening does not make it natural. If it was natural, in this context you are implying that 'natural' means normal. It can not be 'natural' if the act does not have contribute to furthering the genetics of the species.

For every incidence of homosexual activity there are billions of incidences heterosexual activity, damn I performed one last night :), so therefore heterosexual activity is MORE natural than homosexual activity.

My first post on this issue - and I for one don't condone or admittedly understand it. I personally believe that many, not all, but many homosexuals are a result of social construction - to put it bluntly, monkey see, monkey do. I know personally of a woman who was in a heterosexual relationship, she became a lesbian due to the environment she was in, when removed from that environment she is now back in a heterosexual relationship.

My guess is that your friend was one of the rare cases where people wrongly identify themselves. It happens. But no one chooses to be gay. You didn't choose to be straight. And I know you'd be lying if you were because thats just not possible.

Straight/gay is not a binary switch - its a spectrum, some people are very hetero and have no attraction to the same gender, others are very homo and have no attraction to the opposite gender, then there are a spread of people through the middle who might prefer one gender, but if they meet the right person from the other side, they could go that way too.

Its not black & white - many shades of grey (not referring to the book, they're all very straight in there).

There are plenty of various sex acts that aren't natural then! Including using contraception!

For a foreshadowing of what'll probably happen to Colin Craig, read bipolarbear's blog on Graham Capill ;) (The Christian Heritage Party wacko)

So is your partner pregnant? Did you use contraception? Because I think you're being a bit hypocritical if used protection or shes on the pill. Just sayin
