He will be fine if he doesn't buy in Epsom. Nearly everyone I know who has bought a home has bought something cheaper (often with some form of assistance). And at a later stage, moved house.

 

He might have to rent a 1 Bdrm crash pad in Epsom on the side, as he is MP for Epsom for the ridiculous price of probably $500 week.

You're missing the point.

Its not about finding Seymour a home he can afford.
It is about demonstrating that someone earning well above the 99th percentile can't afford to buy in many suburbs of Auckland. This suggests that the current system is unsustainable at best, fundamentally broken at worst.
