Nice to see she's wearing a facemask, just a pity the slogan is so ridiculously wrong. How did this idiot get elected again?

kingdragonfly: Very well written article

I hadn't heard of FiveThirtyEight.

They're associated with American channels ABC News and ESPN. ESPN is rarely political, though through complaints about racist sport announcers now actively chooses ones with better views.

ABC news is generally average. They occasionally produce some stirring news pieces, but generally just rehash existing pieces.
A good reference for this is the media bias chart. You can find FiveThirtyEight down a bit below CNN on the chart. Note that it changes over time as reporting trends change.

I can't see the BBC on there.

Yahoo News: The Lincoln Project threatens Rudy Giuliani with legal action after he linked the group to the Capitol riot

The Lincoln Project threatened to sue Rudy Giuliani for defamation on Saturday.

The legal threat comes after Giuliani alleged that the group had helped organize the Capitol siege.

The anti-Trump group has given Giuliani until February 3 to apologize and retract his false statements.

Lawyer Reacts to Rudy's Defamation of Lincoln Project?

I am well aware that extremists are not rational or consistent, but I have to wonder about the anti-Semitism being espoused by these morons. I am thinking in particular of Congresswoman Taylor Greene but also the whole Q-stupid movement. These people claim to love Trump but do any of them actually realise that Ivanka is Jewish? Do they know she is married to Kushner? Do they understand that he swears on the Tanakh? How do they reconcile their anti-semitic rhetoric with the strong Jewish influence on the family they seem to think will overthrow the deep state cabal of child molesting cannibals? Are they really that fu*king dumb or is there something else going on here?

Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back? Does the pope s--t in the woods?

The other thing is that the people who believe this crap seem totally unaware that they're dealing in antisemitic tropes. They're totally unable to see that standard rumour #3 about George Soros, which they fervently believe, is just a rehash of something from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion over a hundred years earlier. Presumably because they've never heard of the protocols, the holocaust was a myth, and what about all the good things Hitler did that you never hear about?

With a friend like Trump ... who am I kidding? Trump's never had a friend, just prostitutes and toadies.

The Guardian: Donald Trump takes up a post-presidency hobby: revenge

Instead of discreetly returning to private life the ex-president is focused on punishing Republicans he feels betrayed him

Every former American president picks up hobbies after leaving office (books, painting, skinny dipping, boxing). For the early days of Donald Trump’s post-presidency he has picked something a little different: revenge.

It’s early and presidents usually intentionally recede from public view dramatically after leaving office. But Trump appears uninterested in following that practice.

The 45th president has amassed a post-presidential war chest of $31m. ...

Sportskeeda: The transphobic, anti-mask, and Holocaust tweets that led to Gina Carano getting fired from Disney's The Mandalorian

...Besides her anti-Semitic tweets, Gina Carano has also been called out in the past for her anti-mask stance, tweets on voter fraud, and allegedly mocking trans people.

...In an official statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a Lucasfilm spokesperson revealed that Gina Carano's firing was a move long in the making. Her recent tweets on the Capitol Hill riots served as the last straw.

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.

Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.

How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"

Why quote her drivel? It doesn't add anything meaningful and just gives oxygen to it.

Apropos of nothing, as a scientist I have trouble dealing with irrational thinking. Until I saw the videos of people stating how surprised they were that there weren't mass arrests of cannibal pedophiles or whatever it is they believe in, I just assumed... well, it was some sort of nonsense that no-one paid much attention to. I didn't realise that people actually, genuinely believed that Trump was waging a secret war against whatever. It was so outlandish and ridiculous that I couldn't conceive anyone would actually swallow that stuff, until I saw the videos of people who did.

Or cop a load of this clown (not QAnon, but in the same, uh, "space), thinking he has an army of "365 million armed patriots ready to "rise up.": https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/15/politics/capitol-riot-oath-keepers-stewart-rhodes-soh/index.html

Really? All 365 million Americans back him and his ridiculous crap? Or maybe he's meaning his 50-odd gun-loving friends and all of Russia in that total. Wait, would that even be 365 million? I dunno.

Hilarious conspiracy theory - power is out in Texas because "libruls are using wind farms" and because the Biden government is on to them. Twitter bellow or thread in one page here.

That is classic! Also tragic. Laugh until I cry. Maybe the brother with the brain could transplant some brain cells to the other one!
