1. I 110% disagree, Ive been here long enough. I can imagine the comments easily

Damn right. However, your average deluded "ordinary New Zealander" aka bitter and twisted middle-aged, conservative male (be they a poster on here or otherwise) aren't usually known for their ability to reflect on things critically.

I think Bridges is starting to look a little bit silly by banging on about this & I think he knows it.

I struggle to believe that any National MP would txt Bridges and say, “I am in your caucus and I can prove this”

I don't see him banging on about this. If I was him I would want to know who. When who is an unknown it is perceived to be internal unrest. I'd want that in the open and dealt with. Then it is put to bed and forgotten

Some media outlets and commentators have decided this is Bridges' fault no matter what he does and that the leaker is 100% from the National Party caucus despite the Nats apparently suspecting otherwise.

Maybe its just an issue here. Not a headline, snippet, or word on this issue on Stuff or NewsHub's homepages. Just on GZ

I am thinking it is inside the National Party and I am beginning to feel that Mr Bridges is not as secure in his role as he me believe and a stealthy challenge is being orchestrated. I think he should let it fade away.

That is definitely a possibility. It may also be just one rogue MP. If it was one rogue MP that needs to be made public, so it removes this issue and its filed away and ended. It may also not be an MP, it may also not be National based, again, this needs to be sorted and forgotten about. Its not good for National or NZ politics if the perceptions are ill based.

There was a rumour a couple of days ago that Ardern’s staff were panic ringing journos, begging for the story to be shut down... perhaps it was true and we’re seeing the result of that influence?

This was just before the burner phone txt went public, and coincidentally (?) just before Ardern claims that she didn’t order Mallard to kill off the inquiry

Just because some rumours are false, doesn’t mean that all of them are false.

This one happens to align with observed outcomes, it will be interesting to see how the story plays out.

Maybe aligns with preferences?

This story is near over, as I mentioned, two popular websites were bereft of it on their homepages

We have already seen how the Government is prepared to bend statements for their benefit, like the CMDHB funding issues which went very quiet very abruptly.
