It still boggles my mind that at the initial outbreak Ardern actually reacted slower than Donald Trump - closing the border to China nearly a week later. In any case it was too late for both countries by that time, and of course only one if those people is capable of learning from mistakes.

Neither of them ever said "just open the borders."

Found it.

Again, not verbatim but pretty close.

It’s not at all. You were implying something quite different to what he said.

If you think so. It doesn't really matter, he's not the leader anymore, and he's on his way out anyway.

National and Labour both down, but Judith just keeps on sinking.

Oh wow, so the whole "Crusher" thing isn't about crushing opponents - its more of an inward crushing, like the black hole that spaghettifies the party.

If you want a real mind-melt, check out what Trump did to student loan repayments during their 2020 lockdowns.

Could this save them?

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/09/coronavirus-national-s-covid-19-plan-to-end-lockdowns-restart-international-travel.html

"The party earlier said it had the plan peer-reviewed by experts, but on Wednesday wouldn't publicly say who they are as they're in "prominent positions" and don't want to be named."

🤣

I guess that could be a legit reason, but so could their experts not existing. And right under that there's a gigantic list of steps with zero cost allocations or timelines, some of which would be massive.

So in conclusion it could work for the typical voter who falls for politics where they promise the world with no details, but not nearly enough to save them IMO.

Experts that don't want to be linked to a plan? Yeah, right.

Oh they're scared that the Government would "attack them" if they were identified. It's probably Cameron Slater anyway.

ACT have weighed in as well.

Its quite simple. One side sees health and lives, the other sees economy. Hindsight is two years away. I wish (and I do) that there was an election this October. With all the whining, let the people decide. Its farcical.

Doesn't that argument apply to pretty much every political party plan in history when trying to get elected?
