@MikeAqua Please stop with the "funny names". This is against the FUG. I have edit the original posts and replies.

Anyone using a funny name next gets a ban without warning.

My apologies, I inferred from the various funny names used for Trump on GZ threads (including by me) that politicians were fair game ...

I imagine a once-in-a-lifetime exception has been made for Trump, also in regard to Godwin's, because he such an utterly vile, repulsive, and potentially dangerous (see Godwin's) individual.

Using "(see Godwin's) individual" as a substitute does not excuse you from the rule. Thats a breach to the FUG right there IMO

Some people have mentioned the high debt under National. I agree that is an area of concern.

This graph however shows how low mortgage rates have gone under national. I pity FHB's and most people with mortgages if interest rates return to 2007/2008 levels.

And laughably National and their supporters harp on about how affordability is the same since mortgage repayments are similar. Conveniently ignoring the fact people owe owe several hundred thousand dollars more than the time they are comparing to.

I guess I consider house ownership to be a privilege (as opposed to a right) for those who are prepared to work hard and make sacrifices (which may mean buying outside of Auckland central and buying a smaller house).

I didn't ask the Government to artificially deflate the housing market so I could get ahead.

I have to say I considering Hoskings question to JA about snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory to be loaded, and rude. What was she supposed to say? It's like the dumb questions commentators ask at the end of Rugby games, of the captains. I thought she answered it well, except for her dig about autopilot. She would have been better off to stop 3 words earlier.

If she loses, she has every right to feel like she did everything she could, I don't think anyone in Labour could have done better. Even though I think she isn't right for the top job right now, I think she has the building blocks for it. I just wonder if her demeanour can last another 3+ years.

I think National should have dropped their Tax hole attack earlier and gone after the employer's votes by attacking Labours horrific policies there. I do wonder if Stephen Joyce is kept on as finance minister. He wouldn't be my first choice anymore.

I predict if Labour is elected, you will see a completely different side of JA. I think there is something... darker lurking under that smile. There is a real edge to her tone from time to time.

For sure its a privilege not a right.. now. Baby boomers did not grow up with the same belief.

I thought Hoskings lost the plot last night. It was more like an interview than a debate and he had way too much to say. He seemed quite harsh on English. After all its English that has the facts, and Adern has her "vision" whatever that means.

She looked and sounded a bit like Helen Clark, especially with the makeover.

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought so. We don't need "her" back again. I despised her. I offered to pay for her first class airfares if she took the UN Job early, but I didn't get a reply from her office. Her, Cullen and Mallard are in my opinion 3 of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. The only good thing I can say about Helen, is that I am glad she is gone. I did see her trying to stick her nose in again recently.

When did you buy, out of interest? When the market was at 4x incomes, or when it was at 10x incomes like it is now?

That's ridiculous. Mortgage interest rates fell globally - nothing to do with Bill English.

Exactly. Same with high and low dairy prices. There are many factors that help or hinder NZ that are out of our control, and a party cannot always pat itself on the back or blame the other. All they can do is help ride the wave, and help the local populous
