jonathan18:
Geektastic: Wealthy or intend to be? National.

Bludger or intend to be? Labour.

Unthinking plonker? Someone who makes gross and insulting stereotypes about voters and political parties.

Critically engaged voter? Someone who votes for the party that most closely matches their values, ideals and what they want for the country, and lets others make up their own minds as to what parties stand for.

He asked for advice - I simplified it.

I couldn't care less whether people think it is insulting - no one has a right not to be insulted or offended.

If you want to keep more of your own money, vote National. If you want more of your money taken from you by force and given away to others for no reason other than the fact that they have less than you do, vote Labour.

Nope. You are both off topic. This topic got some good answers so far. Try not to derail it. Read the orginal post before responding.

Ah election year, when the air is filled not with the scent of spring flowers but filled with BS and denigration

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Maybe you need to go back and read both the original post and many other comments throughout the thread, as I believe you have totally misinterpreted the request.

To quote from the first post:

So where do you all get your info about who to vote for?

That's not a request for advice on WHO to vote for, but WHERE to get advice on the options. Hence such posts as mine, which pointed the OP to the site www.onthefence.co.nz (which many others have since posted was useful to them ).

You'll also see other posts such as yours that have strayed in to giving "advice" on parties; in all cases this wasn't what was asked, and in many cases including your own it was petty, biased and ill-informed.

Was your "advice" helpful to the OP? Not at all - it's not advice, rather it's just you boiling down your own views into a 'clever' two-liner. I could provide similarly based 'advice', but given my own views it would clearly be totally different to that offered by you, and again how helpful would it be to the OP?

If you want to start a thread on "who should I vote for?" and populate it with your trite "advice" go ahead, but don't confuse it with the purpose of this thread.

Rant over.
