Reasons why Spark (and Vodafone) are not even considered in my broadband list (as I said early Skinny in my mobile provider)

1) No open peering, 2) no native IPv6 support, 3) expensive compared to others because of bundled products like Lightbox and Spotify,

I am with Voyager, good phone support and IPv6 (yay!).

I have noticed an increasing problem with international traffic late in the evenings (around 1-2Mb/s) with my 50-60Mb/s VDSL line.

I am considering swapping to 2degrees as they have better peering with my hosting provider in the states.

Sure thing! Curious if others have the same issue.

Voyager for internet and Skinny for mobile works for us. Kids' phones are with Skinny - they had the best value plans at the time with no contracts to worry about.

Voyager internet is rock-solid, and I have a static IPv4 address, with my own dedicated IPv6 range to use. My $99, 200/20 plan with Voyager isn't the cheapest out there but no complaints.

One of Dad's houses had Voyager VDSL and their service was good, my brother had fibre with Voyager too and didn't have any issues.

My Mum and her husband use Slingshot - the cheapest provider for the combo ($130/month for: two mobiles, 100/20 fibre, and landline with national calling). Have had a couple issues with the landline settings disappearing from the router, and support usually takes a while to get through to too. We usually get an account credit too when renewing contacts (most recent one was $150 credit for another 12 month contract). I believe their mobile service uses Skinny (Mum's iPhone says Skinny not Slingshot).

Is there any reason to choose (or not) Orcon over Slingshot? (I'm not sure as to the degree these two differ, ie is it just branding or actually something meaningful?)

Looking at this from the price angle (given feedback suggests all three are generally fine, and it'll be affected by things like whether a static IP address is required):

Based on the current offers of Slingshot, Orcon, Voyager and 2 Degrees, for a bog-standard 100/20 fibre connection on a 12 month contract 2 Degrees may well be the best value (mobile discount seems to be similar [$5 per phone with Slingshot; $10 with 2 Degrees]; though personally I see more downsides than advantages in bundling services).

Basic monthly price of Slingshot and 2 Degrees (and Orcon) is the same; key difference is the enticements. Slingshot/Orcon are doing actual products; I guess you could sell any item to recoup some of its value? (I imagine the Weber BBQs can recover much of their RRP!)

Personally, I'd rather take the $200 credit on offer from 2 Degrees - results in an average monthly cost for 100/20 of $69.60 over the year's contract.

Voyager - they give a $10/mth discount for not taking a modem; they also use the HG659, and who doesn't have one of them available! $79 a month, given that comes with no contract, is certainly an option...

We recently signed up with 2degrees at home. They seemed to be the best value ($200 account credit + $10/month discount for mobile), plus last time I was with Snap their network was really good. The Fritzbox is a good bit of kit, and native IPv6 is also nice.

Only complaint is about our line speed, but that isn't their fault at all. ;)

Another big Vote for 2degrees for both Fibre and Mobile. Always had great and quick service from them and as a bonus they will give you $200.

Not that I really need to chime in but +1 for both 2degrees and Voyager.

2degrees currently has a bit of a leg up with their Gigabit pricing, $200 credit and the Fritz!Box over Voyager but they're both incredibly good providers. I'm always impressed by the support both providers give to their customers and features (peering, IPv6, international speeds) are top notch also. If you want an "all in one" provider with mobile + internet then 2degrees is great as you get full rollover data on mobile + $10 discount per month on your broadband along with WiFi calling.

Their router also supports mesh if you purchase another one through them (for $165 + $15 shipping) making this one of the cheapest ways to get decent mesh WiFi around the house.
