What would you think is safer for logging into your bank website out of iphone/windows/linux and why?

No difference (because it's over https), unless you have malware/virus on your device(s).

I'd say iPhone. Since all apps a checked before being made available in the App Store. At least, safer than windows and android.

Possibily, however they can't check everything. I have found that apps also have smaller amounts that they will let you transfer, than if you are doing it via the website. The anz one for example has a maximum of $1000 through the app. Also website ones often have multi level authentication, where the apps don't seem to, and you can log in with just a 4 digit pin.

All are apps are also checked on Windows Phone before being made available in the app store..

Not sure about other banks, but kiwibank allows you to reset your internet banking password via email, standard practice for a website. They do make you answer "keepsafe" security questions though, strength variable to what they are set as and arguable level of additional security.
But I wonder if people realise this, and keep their associated email account under the same level of precaution?

By the way, what was your mothers maiden name again?

I haven't heard of trojans stealing bank details in NZ - only email phishing. Other than that. On the basis trojans are written for target market Windows, Linux is safer. iOS has a slower patch cycle than either of those, but never heard of an iOS banking trojan, although spam trojans have slipped into the iOS appstore and checking is not that comprehensive.
