Hi all,

I have a project where the client has asked to pay by credit card. I know PayPal offers this service but their fees are very high. Are there any alternatives that are simple to set up for a one-off project?

There are lots of providers who do this. I've used Windcave (formerly Payment Express) who are pretty easy to deal with.

Would something like Windcave be worth it (set up time, fees etc) for just a one-off instance?

I don't have a website and plan to send a link to the client to pay.

My recommendation would be Stripe. Here's a page on creating an invoice for a one-off payment.

There are no setup fees, and the setup and interface are all very quick and modern.

If its a one off I'd defintely go for PayPal. I think for anything else the set up costs would outweigh the PayPal fees.

If its really as simple as someones wants to send you money buty use their credit card why not use something like WorldRemit? But then again I think their fees could be similar to PayPal.

This. Simple, no monthly or setup fees, and it looks much more professional than paypal IMHO.
