I have a perfectly working credit card except...

Every time I try to use stripe for payments it gets declined. Rang my bank (BNZ) and they tell me they can't see any declined payments etc on my account.

Got really annoying when I tried to book a taxi through their app (corporate cabs) and it declined (not sure who the payment was going through on that one)

Anyone got any ideas... or should I give up and go through the pain of getting another card?

Matthew

freitasm: Similar? https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=191&topicid=296007

Except my card is not due for replacement so I can't see that it is an expiry date problem. I don't really know enough about what goes on with credit card processing to even make a guess

The card in the other thread was not due for another month, so this wouldn't be the problem. I thought it would be similar because both are on BNZ and both had problems paying for a taxi ride. Perhaps their processor is not working well (not even reaching BNZ). Perhaps BNZ has a misconfigured network and blocking inbound data from some processors?

We likely wouldn't find out as we don't have a BNZ person around. But I think it's something on those lines.

Do you mean swipe with the magnetic strip?

You should be using contactless or chip-and-pin. Magnetic stripe should be considered obsolete.

Stripe as in the payment processor stripe not the type.

Stripe, the payment processor service at stripe.com
