richms: Im very disappointed with my asb visa debit card. I basically got it since they refuse to issue spare eftpos cards, and I have the debit functionality going to an account i never keep money in for very long.

Yet it has gone into overdraft with the hulu charge, which I specifically left not enough money in it so that it wouldnt go thru. Im just going to get rid of it I think.

Just go into a store and ask for an eftpos card, they should do it for you. I have 2 cards linked to the same account.

Credit cards are great if you use them correctly.

If it is a debit card with ASB and you never ever want the account to go over drawn call the contact centre and ask them to turn off behavourial scoring on the accuont the card is linked to. This will decline any transactions (including APs,DD, Bp etc for all the suffixes under the unique number. which mean you could get hit with a dishonour fee for these type of transactions but not card based transactions) if there is not avaliable funds in the specific account.

With True Rewards if it is from a joint linked card or account you can transfer your points (online or via the contact centre).

'I don't care about the credit card being compromised since I'm not liable'

You are liable in a indirect way. We all pay for credit card fraud in fees.
