mrgsm021: The Titanium/Ultimate credit cards will remain in place. I got one of these card and was sent an invitation to upgrade to the more premium credit card.
Due to the annual cost, I don't think this new premium card is going to replace Titanium cards.
Westpac however is replacing their gold visa cards with platinum marstercards though.

It is slightly better earn rate. The double hotpoint cards does a 1.11% return. This is now 1.66%.
Frequently fliers could get a overseas (easier than AirNZ) to get lounge access anyway complimentary. It might suit those who go for the lowest airfare or low cost carriers and still access lounges. With the hotel club, while the Accor does the now/then online promotion where you can get a Gold/Plat membership for a year before it downgrades to Classic if you don't do those 30 or 60 night stay per year. This World Card just gives you that upgrade perk without you needing to do all those nights just to qualify/maintain the hotel status.
rayonline:
You can get rewards for normal things and vouchers for travel etc .. but if one wants that $99 fare to Sydney or $998 to LA that has to come from your wallet elsewhere.

Not quiet right ...
I clock up a huge amount of AirNZ/Qantas air points on business travel. These points have helped us out often and have either bought or contributed to tickets to the Gold Coast, Hawaii and Fijii
This year alone I have traveled to the US 2 times. Clocking up enough for another good holiday with the family. Last time I checked I already had enough for return fares for 3 of us to Aus. Just need to clock up a few more.

That was meant if the person was on Hotpoints. If I have Hotpoints I cannot use the Hotpoints to get that grabaseat special fare.
But yeah if one has enough APD as a AirNZ card or combined to the AirNZ CC, you can use those for grabaseats.
rayonline: Ok maybe you can. But it works at a 0.5% rate though ... as it says ...
All you need to start redeeming is 2,000 hotpoints, which equals $10 of holiday credits. You can redeem any amount of hotpoints over 2,000 and we’ll calculate the dollar and cents value of holiday credits to credit your hotpoints enrolled credit card account.
rayonline: Oh yep. 1.5% it is then. But my GP Amex is 1.5% (per $66 spent) with the lesser annual fee. But I am more into travel :D But I have pretty much getting domestic fares to AKL for my intl fare these days comapred to the 10yrs ago when it was based on mileage. No more long haul freebie for me, in 2004 I did receive a free trip to Japan thou. Given the option I take the no APD $700 fare to Japan and back then the $1800 fare.
