jarledb: Booking with Emirates was a really good experience. Have not flown with them yet, but looking forward to it. Easy access to all booking details and could even choose our own seats well in advance of our flight. And the prices were really good. They do multiple destinations/stop overs so would think they can do pretty customised travels. (Although my small test didn't get me results that showed them being very competitive on those kind of travels)

I found economy seating on a 777 to be - literally - the most painful seat I have ever sat on in my life. It took me weeks to recover.

TBH I think 90% of Travel agents are bad, but flight centre is horrible and there cheesy ad's are reflective of the inability to organise.

3-4-3 economy is terrible. I'll never willingly fly economy in 3-4-3 unless there are no other options available.

Emirates have, I believe, the biggest fleet of A380's. Flew Lufthansas last year in economy and that was fairly comfortable. Emirates have slightly more room on their A380's.

Have had good and bad experience on the 777. Was your experience on an Emirates flight?

Yes. Sydney - Dubai via BKK. I flew a 380 from Dubai to Manchester - a far more pleasant experience (MUCH quieter plane too).

For some reason, their main character has been known as 'The Gay Captain' in our family for as long as I can recall!
