sbiddle: I'm with ANZ and love their app.

I recently got a Westpac account for the Airpoints card and must say their website, app and customer service are absolutely dreadful compared to ANZ.


Likewise, I moved to Westpac from BNZ and found the Westpac website to be shocking. Seems I caught them midway between updating their site but their old site was truly dismal.

Complete opposite for me, I left ANZ because their staff had no knowledge of their product and procedure. Westpac solved all of my issues and were ready to correct mistakes and reverse charges. In terms of app usability, go ASB

It's a shame that you got crap service from Kiwibank, but I do rate their website, online banking, and app highly. I've been with them for years and haven't had an issue.

What I don't understand is why they launch a new "Westpac One" internet banking product and app and push that as the primary product, and then half the functionality is still coming soon forcing you to go back to their old platform.

The biggest disadvantage of ANZ is they don't have a realtime platform after moving to National's Systematics. They had it previously with their old platform for a short period of time.

Their website and online banking etc used to be cutting edge, but these days it is looking a bit dated compared to other banks. Even TSBs is looking a bit more modern. In terms of functionality of online banking, ANZ (rather the national banks old interface) is one of the better ones.

I completely agree, I was with ASB until I decided to redo a loan and ASB had no interest in working out anything for me even saying "if ANZ has a better offer go with them" but ANZ where very helpful and had a better offer from the start and then even started making other offers on top of it outside of the normal scope to get the rest of my banking.

So far I have been very happy with them and my only issues are the lack of real time transactions and a slight annoyance with the online banking not being quite as capable as ASB at times but they usually make up for that with minor things ASB didn't have.

A vote for the ANZ site - been using it since it was morphed from the NatBank and its got better.  Also works well on the iPad site.  BNZ Visa site appears to have improved recently too.

Yes you can change your, pin turn on and off international, e-commerce and NFC transactions on ASB.

The website is okay but the app isn't so great. If you compare it to say ANZ's app you will see

The kiwibank website and app are great, just as long as you don't require the service of an actual person. Which is rare for me, but painful every time nonetheless.

I switched from Kiwibank to ANZ this year.

The only thing I'm just not getting used to is ANZ's transitions not being real-time.

i.e. eftpos transactions don't process over the weekend, visa debit authorisations don't show up, paying someone doesn't take the money out of your account until the transaction processes (at 10-11pm).. Irrationally annoyed at this aspect of ANZ's banking system
