So I have found out that places that accept AMEX (such as BP) all require a signature... why can't they just be a PIN like everybody else?

You must have it setup wrong, I use my AMEX everywhere and never have to sign, half the time don't even have to select the CRD tab, just enter the PIN.

Used my Amex at BP yesterday and didn't require a Sig? Used it at Countdown last week and no Sig required? In fact the only place I've every needed to sign is when travelling in the US.

By default your card is set to sign. You have to go online or call up and then you can activate a PIN for all future transactions. Only takes 5 mins.

It did ask me for a pin when I registered online, which I did create.

I think that was the same for me, but you still have to go online and either re-do it, or just switch PIN mode on.

I've had an ANZ Air NZ Airpoints credit card for a couple of years.

Used to get 2 x lounge passes for every $20k spent.

They've now changed this to for every $30k spent. They'll also cap it at 2 per year.

Email:

Your ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum card is one of the fastest ways to earn Airpoints Dollars™. Members have told us the lounge eVouchers they can earn with their card are also a welcome benefit. We’ve also had feedback that the lounges are becoming crowded, especially at peak times of travel. That's why we're making some changes. We’re reducing the number of lounge eVouchers you can earn each year, as well as increasing the spending threshold for earning the vouchers. Changes to your Airpoints credit cardFrom 10 July 2019, you will receive a pair of Lounge eVouchers when you spend $30,000* per anniversary year on your ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum. In addition, these eVouchers will now be capped at two pairs per year. These changes have been made to deliver calm and comfortable spaces and improve your experience when you do use our lounges.

I'm therefore on the lookout for something else.I know Westpac does a credit card, where you also become a Priority Pass member.Question: Will I be able to bring a child(8 years old) to a lounge?
Any other credit cards you can recommend?

Depending what you use it for but I have an ASB Light visa

https://www.asb.co.nz/credit-cards/visa-light.html

This has zero fees, low interest but the cool thing is the "smart rate" for purchases over $1000.  Currently it's 0% for 6 months.  Good if you are a bit of a geek and like to buy new toys that are over the $1000 as you get 6 months to pay it off with no fees or interest :)

Might pay to wait for the dust to settle on this - all the other Air NZ Airpoints cards may be going through the same tightening as Air NZ tries to reduce overcrowding in the koru lounges (plenty of articles online about this).

Agree, but as Priority Pass uses different lounges, would it make a difference?

Cap is 4 vouchers per year.

Priority Pass is not really a Koru replacement. It's not possible to recommend anything else without knowing what your requirements are, but it would seem the best alternative for you is to buy Koru membership.

No it's been changed to four vouchers per year, as per the T&C which you've quoted above.

Sorry, my mistake. Capped at two PAIRS.
Still, wonder how ANZ (and Kiwi bank)are going to make up for it. Obviously not their decision, but Air NZ's.

I doubt they will do anything especially if the competition have all reduced their offerings too.

I'll definitely be looking at the Westpac option then.
But will wait for a bit for the dust to settle, as recommended in this thread.
