jonathan18:floydbloke: Do transactions show up immediately on the App?
I've recently got one of these cards too and currently running it in parallel with BNZ Gold, while there are no fees.
BNZ recently introduced this feature on their web interface. With Westpac I'm still having to wait a couple of days before transactions show up (although the balance seems to update in real-time).
I think this is a brilliant feature of the BNZ app, and I must say I'd love it if the other banks would introduce real-time transaction reporting on their apps and/or websites. (Do any others already provide this? I know Kiwibank and ANZ don't).
We put everything we can on the credit card, and also track all spending on a spreadsheet, and it can be really frustrating trying to get things to balance given it can take up to five days (or even longer sometimes) for some transactions to show up. The worst period is over the weekend as no transactions are added from overnight Friday until overnight Monday. Sure, balances are amended immediately, but often that's not enough to work out some spending.
I've worked at both Westpac, and ASB. ASB is the only one of ANZ, BNZ, Westpac and ASB to process the transactions in real time. It is because ASB's back end system stems from the old Trustbank real time system. So maybe TSB processes in real time too?
I much prefer ASB's customer service to Westpac's. The Westpac people are nice but the bank policies are too bureaucratic to foster great customer service. However I prefer Westpac's website to ASB's. Payees are assigned to your customer ID, making it much easier to modify existing APs. Whereas with ASB to change an AP you need to delete it and replace with another one. Westpac also offer payline splits, and case sensitive passwords.
Back when I workedinbanking, 2007-2013, in customer satifaction surveys of the big banks, ASB was always #1, then NBNZ#2, BNZ & Westpac would tustle over 3rd and 4th, and ANZ last place. I had heard that Kiwibank rated higher than ASB.
