Hi

This is one of those - It is me being stupid - moments possibly.

In Dunedin and noticed that I was not getting an ipv6 address from Quic. Had a look at the status pages and forums/discord and nothing jumps out. Have not made any changes to my system in the last month or so. OpenWRT running on a pi4 that works great.

Anyway while I had some time I thought I would setup an ipv6 only Quic VPS in CHCH. Paid by the Online EFTPOS people have been chatting about. Purchase went well and the "Your server is ready" email arrived. The downside is it says

"No IPv4 or IPv6 addresses are assigned to your server."

The control panel also shows no ipv4 (did not purchase one) or ipv6 address. This makes it a bit difficult connecting to the server. Tried a rebuild but ended up in the same place.

In the past I setup a test Quic ipv6 only server in AKL and do not remember having this issue so got to the point of asking myself - Is it just me or is there an issue with Quic ipv6 down here?

Ok tracked down a message in Discord dated 12 May - 7 days ago. Mentioned there was a problem with CHCH VPS's not getting addresses.

As a customer it would be good if this was mentioned - your CHCH server is not going to get an IP address so will not be usable. Do you want to carry on with the purchase. I would have said NO Thanks.

Sorry Quic but points off for customer experience on this occasion.

Amended title as it appears you're mainly talking about compute.

You're right though... IPv6 doesn't appear to be provisioning to compute in Christchurch right now. Not sure why as I know some users do have it. Not ideal given it is an IPv6 only service (unless if you opt in for an IPv4 IP) but I know compute in Christchurch is pretty new.

It is however working totally fine in Auckland from what I can tell.

It also looks like IPv6 is working fine on broadband down south (have a few friends in Dunedin with working IPv6 on their connections).
