Alexa phone app also can't connect when on wifi but working fine over cellular (on mighty mobile)

Been near an hour now. Nothing else seems down that I have found yet.

I don't belive this is an issue with other ISPs

My brother cameras work fine. Tried two other ISP with ring devices and they all working.

There was an upstream issue. Solved now.

Had a brief issue, I just said Alexa whats the time and one said something went wrong but another answered me. They worked for all subsequent things except it did stop part way thru telling me what was on my calendar. That is not uncommon tho.

I've been having oddities with iMessage since yesterday (messages either failing to send, or sending successfully but claiming to fail), and both Apple and Downdetector say all is well. I have no idea whether iMessage uses AWS or not, but I'm wondering whether it could be related.

Or maybe it's a total red herring!

Edit: It probably IS a red herring: another machine on the same network is working fine.

Haven’t had iMessage issues at all.

The issue with AWS here is looking like a fibre cut in the US on one of their upstream carriers.

I'm surprised these devices don't have endpoints on AWS Cloudfront/Global accelerator.

But it also looks like Quic are still under attack / have their shields up? Scrubbing center hiccups perhaps?

Was it around 2-3 AM? I had to turn off my alexa before going to sleep otherwise it would wake up the whole family again
