Cheeky request, but does anyone have the capacity/resource to run an instance of Uptime Kuma for me in their environment ? :)

I want to be able to monitor some resources on my home network, and get alerts if they're not available externally anymore. I could look at some of the "free" platforms out there but most are either extremely limiting or take that long to get sorted.

Hey, I've been meaning to setup Uptime Kuma on my stack for a while, i'd be happy to ping your services when I eventually get around to. I can't guarantee when that'll be, or that I'll provide any number 9s uptime! 😁

If you want to do this yourself cheaply, aka free, spin up a Linux instance in OCI, using their Free Tier and pop Uptime Kuma in docker.

I could run an instance for you (from home), or as suggested Oracle Cloud Free Tier (where status.geekzone.co.nz is hosted, with Uptime Kuma).

Question is if this should monitor your home internal services, would this be via normal IP/port forward, or via VPN?

Oh, that might work. Last time I checked (long time ago), they were charging for everything, no free account. Obviously has changed :D

IP/port :)

Had hell of a time with Oracle last time I tried it, but might take another look :)

The advantage of a local uptimekuma instance it is can also monitor docker via container name rather than just a simple ping to is a port up.

You could use Hetrix Tools, it's free and easier to get started as it's hosted. I use both, Hetrix and Kuma.
