Our install got signed off yesterday making an whole 0.1kw today in this horrid weather. We used Aotea here in Dunedin, overall they were excellent.

Have turned on the Sigen AI mode with the plan to move to move master. Even though we are not on it yet Ive put the rates in to see if the battery will get us through peaks, which it looks like it should.

What size array / inverter. We have 11.88/10kW and even with some shitty very grey/wet days we are geeting alot more than that.

Thanks for the article link, i also ended up reading https://solarscout.co.nz/solar-guides/solar-panel-costs-nz/ on their website and i have a question for those who can possible shed some light.

I had a poke around their website - they need to tidy up the stock photos they're using - this page shows two roofs that should NOT have solar installed until the underlying roof condition is rectified.

Our 11.76/10kW system in Christchurch very similar.

A 15 kW installation and with better weather here in North Taranaki. Just add the first data from our 5 kW SMA inverter to the lower data's exported amount. ( Our Fronius monitoring interprets this as consumption):

We did 5kwh today, but the weather was a bit sunny in Wellington for an hour or so. Other days recently we've had as low as 0.9kwh and as high as 26kwh. Summer peak is about 60kwh from memory. 9kw of panels with 6kw inverter.

Hmmm, without a kWpeak it's a bit hard to figure out how that is performing.

Also, my wife pointed out that the second image on page https://solarscout.co.nz/solar-guides/best-solar-installers-nz/ looks like AI slop, as the already mounted panels have no lower support and the three rails make no sense. Be very careful out there.

The rope looks like twisted up toilet paper, the roof is absolutely buggered, and the guy drilling doesn't actually look like he's in contact with the roof 🤣

The rope, as a fall arrest system has too much slack. He'd hit the ground before the stretch was taken up. Though, that can actually be careless use just as much as AI slop.

Updated above, I was mostly sharing to show output is highly variable. On those days where it's super dark and often rainy we get basically no generation. When there's a bit of sun around we get a bit of generation. On sunny days we get a lot of generation. It's pretty much as expected.

It's doing ok today, there's a bit of sun through the cloud so we're getting 4-5kwh at times.

Well done. We have generated 7,737 kWh from the house (11.88kW PV with 10kW inverter) and 2,930kWh from the garage with it's micro inverters. With a battery bank of 68kWh gross but operating params set so we can use 44kWh.

We've had several days in the last week where we have exported more than we imported (night time), although today is a bit overcast.
