I got the update yesterday which installed Microsoft Office Mobile on my E7. It also came with Lync, Broadcast, Microsoft Apps and One Note. I haven't had time to try it out set it up properly.  There looks to be some nice features in this suite of apps.

As a Nokia owner it's nice to see this sort of support for my device though no doubt part of the aim is to get Nokia owners to migrate across to a Windows phone. Not sure that's going to work for me just yet, I've had a very quick play with the Lumia and it didn't do anything that made me think I needed to have one.  Meanwhile I'll continue to enjoy the updates fro my E7.

Has anyone else got to use Office Mobile and the other apps and have any feedback on how well it all works?

What product code is your N8?  There's no update for my wife's N8 either.

My E7 is a parallel imported one from Malaysia, and has the Belle upgrade, my wife's N8 has an Aussie product code and is yet to get the Belle update.  The New Zealand and Aussie Symbian 3 phone are still waiting for the Belle update.  I'm not sure if the Belle version is a requirement or not for Office Mobile.

It seems the the Office Mobile roll out is staggered as it wasn't available for my phone a few days ago when it was rolled out in Europe.  Yours may not be far off.

Product code is 599250. It is an import from the US with Generic Nokia Firmware.
It is also running Belle. I have had that update since the initial rollout date

All the N8 country variants for both NZ and Australia have just been belatedlyreleased so if one of those then it should be available.

That leaves just the operator variants outstanding which means for NZ the only N8 update outstanding is the Vodafone one 059C7R0 (which is what I have so am still waiting) which has been released for some time to Vodafone for testing. Going by JohnR's comments on Vodafone's own forum it sounds like they aren't in much of a hurry testing it Frown.

Starting to be a whole raft of important Nokia apps which will not run on Anna e.g. latest navigation, Microsoft so a bit of a pain in the butt without Belle.

I feel your pain. You have to wonder about the value of operator specific variants.  They seem to cause more grief for the phone owners than they're worth.  My E7 works perfectly well on the XT network without being an XT variant. In the future, based on past experience, I'll buy a phone with a product code that has a history of getting prompt updates.

Hopefully you'll get Office Mobile soon, unless of course there's any stupid restrictions on US variants.  Have you tried Googling to see when the release is for the US product code?

It is the first phone I've bought from Vodafone and later on when the Anna update came out with no delay for Vodafone product code I thought I was going to be fine with updates, but no it turns out. Unless they get Belle out quickly it will be the last phone of any make I get off them.

In the past we have had parallel imports and my last phone was sourced in Europe (had a generic EURO product code), all Nokias, and they have all worked fine and updates got promptly so I think unless Vodafone sort Belle out quickly that is the way to go next time again, assuming buying Nokia. With the current N8 will flash it myself if no action from VF so can get onto current apps such as MS and Navigation.

Grrrrr!!!

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

It appears that Office Mobile is not yet available for the N8 but it is coming for the N8.
