Bah bought a dmp-bdt220 from noel leeming and its region locked for dvd playback! I didnt think it would be here?

Looks like theres a few options involving remote controls (for dvd region hack) or firmware (for br hack).

Dont care about br multi region hacks, just DVD.

Looks like there are some codes for a harmony remote (which I dont has) or ebay remotes just for hacking (£10 or something).

Any other options?

Pretty sure those are your only options.  IIRC, panasonic uses the same region-free IR unlock codes for most of their consumer DVD players - the problem being that at least one of the codes is not available in the standard remote control (hence the need for a dedicated unlock device or a programmable remote).

Take the player and receipt to the local Panasonic service centre, they will unlock it for free.

+1
Just had one done last week.
Check the Panasonic website for your local service agents. Beware though that not all of them do Video/DVD etc.
One I tried in Aukland only handled photocopiers and another only does air conditioners.

All NZ Panasonic Service Agents will set your DVD player to multi zone free of charge.
See their web site http://eng-au.faq.panasonic.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21522
Why they don't do this prior to shipping beggars belief!
