Hi guys,

I have a MySky box in the house and when I got it I thought that if ever I had 60 hours of TV still to watch I should get out more.... but as I also have 3 kids who complain if I want to delete anything they haven't watched 3 times - that and the fact that I like recording 3 or 4 live European matches over the weekend just in case I get the time to watch them means that the MySky box is very full ..... so I would like to but a DVD recorder to archive some video to.... but I cant find a model that does what I want...

I cannot justify the extra expense of a HDD as the MySky has one so I just want a recorder.... however I like the idea that the DSE $100 player has that I can play AVI, MP4 etc from a USB memory stick.

So does anyone out there know of a recorder model that has a USB port, can play AVI, MP4, DivX files .... or a cheapish HDD model that has a USB port?

Thnaks in advance......

Yes i would also like to know this. im not really a computer geek so forgive me if i sound like a novice.  I have a USB memory stick. on it i have music downloaded from my itunes, do you think there is anyway i can select the memory stick and select songs through my mysky decoder.

and also can i copy programs onto my 2gig memory stick by putting it in the usb port?? i mean what is that usb port for?  Ive lost my manual.

I asked the technician that installed the box if i could back up programs... he didnt know, said he would get back to me (10 months ago)

I saw something about hacking the mysky boxes to tear off the recorded programs a few months back, I somewhere have a scematic for just ripping the raw mpeg streams from the standard PACE box direct off the air but again i have no idea which hard drive that now resides on.
Though you do this at your own peril... i'd say it's pretty well a "don't go there" as you don't actually "own" the mysky box.
