I have a Samsung 50" Plasma that has been entertaining us for 3+ years, nothing wrong with it.

If you were to buy a 60inch tv, would you get lcd led led or other?

Which type/one would be best bang for buck or are all of them pretty steep?

Is ultra HD tv just around the corner?

Harvey Norman at Manukau City have a nice LG 84" LED UHD set on display, an absolute steal at a mere $22,888

+1 for plasma, but for a similar price to many of the 60 inch LCDs, I'd think about a 65ST50

Unless you sit far away from the TV, getting a 60" set which only does 1080p makes for some blocky viewing.

Having said that I'm sure the Mrs would notice 10 extra inches :-)

only a problem if you are going to carry it room to room ??

it can be an issue if you intend to wall hang.

we have a 65" Panasonic (VT) I sit approx 3 meters away and the screen is awesome in HDTV and Blu Ray. Even SDTV looks ok. We have one chair that is just on 2 meters, maybe less and it still looks great

is picture quality of plasma still way superior or has that changed in recent times?

if you get a 3d tv can the dvd players convert 2d to 3d?

Or the panasonic can convert 2D to 3D itself. It's a bit of a gimmick... we barely use the 3D functions at all though it is nice for something different on occasion.

Just had a Panasonic P65VT delivered on Thursday for just over $3k.

Every review I read had it the best large flat panel TV of any type for 2012.

I got the last one at Botany but another guy over at AudioEnz said his local HN Auckland store (he didn't say which one) had three left - as of yesterday.
