Does anyone know of any shops in Ak who are renting out HD-DVD (or Blu Ray)?  At only $250 (also comes with a King Kong HD-DVD), I am tempted to buy an XBOX 360 HD-DVD drive for my PC (it works with Toshiba drivers & Power DVD Ultra).

Thanks
Ace

I have the HD-DVD add on player for 360, and it looks stunning on my 50" TV...i was pretty blown away by the difference from standard DVD. King Kong looks very good!. Also have Miami Vice and Batman Begins.

I hope the HD-DVD titles roll in as there are only a few i can see at DSE, not many places stock them yet.

Also the good news is that HDDVD is Region Free!
I'm currently in the states and will be bringing a few discs back with me.

Blu-Ray just so you know isn't region free (thanks Sony).

Haven't found any rental shops either yet :( Actually it's hard enough finding them in retail shops. Game concole shops or DSE Power house seem to have the most.

Ordered a PS3 for $1050 ($150 off) from www.ferrit.co.nz. They also have the XBox HD-DVD drive for only $200...(Update..not any more)

HTPC: 3G P4, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8500GT, HVR 2200 (for FreeviewHD), 2x Hauppauge PVR-150 (1 for analog TV + 1 for AV input),  Windows 7
Display: 42" Panasonic Plasma
Blu Ray/Games: PS3
