Looking at purchasing a Samsung HT-F4550 but need to know will i be able to run sound from the sky hdi to the tv through the hdmi to the ARC hdmi going to the the HT box ? if that makes sense

If your TV supports ARC, then yes ...

What TV? If it has an HDMI port that is designated to ARC, then you're sorted.

Has ARC on the tv its a panasonic

Cool, plug it into HDMI 2 on the TV, make sure Viera Link is turned on...
Then go into the Viera Link menu and designate audio to 'home theatre'.
Sorted.
