Hi all

I am just wondering if anyone is using an extender that does HDMI and IR over a single Cat5e (If possible LAN as well). Is anyone aware of a possible solution?

Juts trying to sort out a solution for my parents. I have no idea why the people who did the wiring when the house was built about 6 years ago only put one Cat5e cable to the TV, one to the home theatre cupboard and only ran RCA cables and no HDMI cables.

With the amount of corners there are between the TV and the home theatre cupboard, I don't think I could use the RCA cables as a draw wire for more Cate5e/6 Cable.

The thing that makes me laugh, is the other TV locations including the bedrooms, there are 3-4 runs of Cat5e from the comms cupboard.

Your thoughts will be appreciated

They have been around for quite a number of years. HDBaseT is what you want and monoprice seem to have the cheapest stuff around at the moment (I have one of them which does HDMI/IR over them but the newer ones have HDMI/IR/LANl)

I've never used one but have seen them.

www.dynamix.co.nz and have a look on the left hand menu for HDMI Products. On the top menu then look for HDMI Extenders. Product HDMI507 looks likely. Use PriceSpy to check for a local reseller.
