Even with the latest update from the satellite, which I believe changes the RF output channel from 38 to 34, I still get interference on Prime & the Maori Chanel. Those two channels are fine before inserting the Zinwell.
I bought the Zinwell in June 07.
This is the first time I have connected the RF cable as I have my Grandchildren staying & I wanted to feed the signal into the coax cable to a second TV.

Does anyone know if the downloaded patch did not fix some of the boxes?

Hi Trevor as mentioned in the other thread the Zinwell is reputed for its polluted RF out. There is no firmware fix for this its a hardware issue. The RF output has a broadband cover of rubbish coming out of it, interestingly from various tests its below the requirements of the standards, just.

I think I will attempt to reject this unit, as not fit for it's purpose (RF pollution) or of acceptable quality, under the Consumer's Guarantees Act.

If I am successful, what unit would you recommend?

I suppose the Hill unit has it's own disadvantages?
My wife expressed disappointment in not being able to tune into other Free To Air signals.
I understand that to do that, one would need to mount extra pick-up units (LNB's?)at the dish?

I like the Strongs, you can get them here, the basic topfields (ie non PVR ones) dont seem to be in the local stockiest catalogs at the moment, but the TF6000 can be had for similar money, however lacks component output which I think is worth the money, hence a reason I like the Strong.

The same supplier can fit you up with mutiple LNB's although to be honest unless there is not a lot of alternative FTA out there at the moment thats worth getting excited about.

I contacted the shop I bought it from & informed them of the problems I was experiencing.
They contacted Next & was informed to swap it with one from a new batch that is available.
I rang Next & asked if the replacement unit addresses the RF pollution & was told yes!

I installed the replacement & can report that there is no interference to Prime & the Maori channels.
