hi there i just got my sattalite installd its a oldskydish but it is pointing at optus b3 now , i read sumwhere u move the dish slightly to the right to gt to optusD1 now i got no signal for ne sattelite i havnt touchd the elevation or nethin like that just turnd the dish to the right slightly, and im using a strong 4658x decoder

8 degrees to north. Are you using a meter on the roof or is it simply hit or miss using Strong meter. See http://www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html for Optus D1 transponders.

hit and miss rite now im in auckland mt roskill aswell. and using the decoders quality singal, rite now i havnt tried moving it again but in signal it says 89% but quality is 23% and the bar color is red

ok just a update.. i got the signal for optusD1.. its about 80% singal and 60% quality but the signal dosnt hold picture keeps stuttering on freeview channels poping sound and blocks of picture

Sounds like your skew or something is very out of alignment. D1 is a REALLY strong signal so you can be + or - 4-5 degress off the satellite and still get "ok" signal. It's worth giving it a nudge in all directions and see if it you get a better signal, should be higher than 90% on both signal and quality to be honest.

The way that I do it is take the STB up onto the roof, and have a really long RCA connection between the video of the TV and the box, then I can move the dish around until I get an initial signal, then I move over to 12643 Vertial Symbol Rate 6874 as per http://www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html and that helps me to get completely fine tuned onto the Satellite.

Also check out www.freeviewshop.co.nz as they have the LNB skew photos for many LNB's... could be what is wrong with your dish as well.

thanks for your help bartender did a bit of playing around now its up to 85% which is good enough i think thats the hieghst i can get
