Since buying an LCD TV for the lounge I have been disappointed with the pictured quality casued by the low bitrate Sky use on most of their channels.

Last night we watched a box office movie for the first time on the new TV and it actually look really good! Really shows up how much difference it makes when using a higher bitrate. If only they had the bandwidth to crank the other channels up.

Also I hope that when the release MySky HDi and HD over DVB-S2 they don't compromise the HD quality with more low bitrates.

I guess time will tell.

Welcome to the world of monopolies.  They serve up  and you buy crap and all.  It interesting to see Foxtel in Ozz a month or two ago.  far better PQ than we get  here..
