Hi guys, I did a search, feel free to flame me if I am asking noob questions k.

What I really want is to add freeview recording/watching capabilities to my existing HTPC.
Currently have a Hauupage 150 working very nicely with Vista MCE and my sky digital STB. Geforce 6800gt.

What is the easiest way for me to do this? Do I want DVB-T or -S? I am in an appartment in central auckland.
Do I have to move from Vista Mce? Hubby will be pissed if so.
Do I need a lot more power?

Help!!

Cheers
Laura

If you want HD then you will need to use DVB-T, otherwise DVB-S should be ok.

You can have DVB-S with Windows Vista MCE, if you do some registry changes - look for them in the forums. However, current Vista MCE does not support H.264, the HD standard on DVB-T in New Zealand, which means you will need to use something else, like Media Portal, GB-PVR or dvbviewer - plus the appropriate H.264 software decoders.
