I think this wiki which was setup by a geekzone member (forgot - sorry!!) should be referred to more often, and perhaps be updated more.
In general i think it would work best as the central go to for anyone who wants to get started with a HTPC. Theres so much knowledge on these forums, but i think it should all be put in one place. Also there should be links to it as stickys in this forum and the freeview forum.

Pretty much this is just a reminder if people get spare time to contribute.Cool

The wiki is a third party effort (and a good one at that).

It is natural that some information will be in some resources (e.g. Geekzone), but not in others (e.g. HTPC Wiki).

It is certainly not a question of taking information from Geekzone and consolidating it all on the wiki.

I agree, I imagine it is pretty confusing for someone starting out, particularily if they want Freeview HD. On that regard I have started a discussion on the MediaPortal page regarding adding more info on FreeviewHD (codecs etc) as what is there is lacking specifics. I am willing to put stuff up but don't have a wide range of experience. WHo here feels qualified to put something on hardware/software decoding, codecs etc?
