Due to multiple problems I have, I need a quick way to re-install Media Portal RC1 and to keep the recorded shows, so they are available in the re-installed version of MP. What procedure do I need to follow, please?

mobo Intel DH55PJ, RAM: 4GB RAM, Nova-T 500 HD + Avermedia Trinity tuner card, Geforce 520 video, 120GB SSD Sandisk + 640 WD + 1000SG, Win7 Home Prem 64-bit, Media Portal 1.15.0; BTC 9019URF Cordless Keyboard, Panasonic 55" (HDMI cable), HTPC Case Silverstone Grandia GD05B.

It would be my pleasure to assist someone who knows where to post HTPC queries

Go into TVServer configuration>recording Settings>DataBaseImport. All your previous recordings should be visible with checkboxes. Just press 'import selected files'. If they aren't present, you need to set your recordings' folder. Go to 'Recording Folders' in same area & set the 'recording folder' for EACH of your tuner cards. You may have to OK out of config & re-enter for the previous records to be present inside the 'DataBaseImport' section.

Sorry. Misread your initial post. Do the above after you have reinstalled MP. Obviously, you have to reset your recording folders, anyway.

I did a clean OS install. Before that, I moved the recorded shows on a separate HDD and after re-install I just added that folder to the "Videos" section. They are accessible now when I press "Videos", not under "recorded TV" but this is not a problem at all. I did not know about the "import database" thing, I will try and see if I can add them to the other "recorded shows" done after the re-install.

I assume for the "import selected files" to work, I have to move the old recordings into the "TV Server" folder, correct?
That's the location where MP looks for recorded shows, right?

I delayed so many weeks to do a clean install. It took approx 2 hours to put everything back toghether including adding a second HDD. I finally have HA working, it sits at 20-22% on TV3, 12-17% on the other channels. I shouldn't have to delay the clean install for so long...

Now you have your OS working, get some image backup software. It will pay for itself in short time. I still use Ghost version 3. Made a boot CD to load straight into the Ghost environment as I don't have a floppy.

You can configure TV-Server to file recorded shows to any folder you wish. Under recording settings, recording folders you can specify where each tuner records and timeslips to. I do this to folders completely outside the C drive. The only thing to remember is on re-installation of MP you will have to reset TV-Server to once again look at (and record to) those folders.

Similarly I move 'keepers' to a separate movie folder so that if I do a 'delete watched shows' clean out I don't inadvertently lose something I wanted to keep.
