Hello,

I have an Epson EH-TW4500 1080p projector, and am looking for a decent OEM bulb.

Has anyone bought an 'original'(OEM) bulb from 'Hollyb1' on Trademe? S/he's selling the ELPLP49 bulb for $129. I'd love to simply buy the $440 bulb, but I just don't have the money.

With previous projectors, I've never had a problem with buying the cheaper, but still OEM, replacement bulbs. The sellers have changed since then. Also on Ebay au, Chinese sellers are selling them for the same as the Trademe seller here in NZ - and Australian sellers sell an ELPLP49 bulb for $50 more - I can only assume they're the same bulb from China with a markup. They also put a 'Original OEM bulb inside' sticker on the box, but I kinda doubt that's worth $50! Ha.

Anyway if any of you have actual experience with the above, I'd really love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance!

Simon J

Upon more looking and thinking, I suspect that the TradeMe seller is selling 'compatible' bulbs and calling them 'original'. Which is of course illegal, but they're small potatoes and it's probably hard to prove.

I think Ill steer clear and go for the definitely Original bulbs which sell for around $230. Still much better than $400!

I've had bad experiences from two of the main kiwi suppliers of 3rd party bulbs (and so called originals).

bulbamerica is the best i've used.
