well, they finally went Wide-Screen for F1 so I renewed Sky Sport.. now I notice the last two races Sky are again apparently having problems with sound mixing, the race sounds and radio transmissions have a terrible echo.. anyone else noticed this?  Why hasn't Sky noticed I wonder?

yeah, noticed that last night, sounded awful.

i think the problem is they buy the commentary feed from ITV, and the video plus other sounds from Forumla One Management (or whoever it is)

If the sound engineer doesn't set it up right, you get this out of sync sounding mess we had last night.

These things seem to happen a lot during qualifying, but are often fixed in the race.

I hope so, the problem was there during the European Grand Prix,  at least the picture quality is now a lot better (looking forward to HD whenever that happens though).  I probably wouldn't have noticed so much had I not watched the original ITV content for most of this season.. they do a really interesting show for both qualifying and race day.. it's a real shame we can't have the whole thing here (I'll stop whinging now ;-) )

I don't believe the sound (echo) problem has anything to do with Sky Sport.

The same issue happened on the South African Channel and the Polish channel when I was watching the free practices :(
