I have a Panasonic TH-42PY800AZ and DMR-EH58 DVD recorder connected by HDMI cable.
I am also running Sky SD.

Is it possible to record Sky tv programs (sports etc) direct from the TV to the recorder as they are viewed?
I cannot see anything in the manuals to that effect - it seems the recorder will only record via its own tuner?

Am I missing something here?

Do not know if you can use the composite out on the TV to a composite on the DVD recorder but why dont you conect the VCR output of your Sky STB to the DVD recorder.
