I'm looking for suggestions/advise on a 30 meter HDMI cable to run between a PS5 in a hallway cupboard and our TV a Sony x950g in our lounge. What I want to achieve is 4k60 HDR cycbr 422 with minimal latency.

Currently I have a 30m cable with inline booster which I purchased from Jaycar that clams to do 18GBPS, which I think is enough bandwidth for 4k60 HDR cycbr 422, but when using this it works for a 30-60 minutes before the picture starts flicking on and off and I have to lower chroma subsampling to 420 on the PS5 (I had the same issue previously with the a ps4 pro but even lowering the chroma sub sampling didnt help some times). Lowering the chroma sub sampling has proven a reliable solution so far, but I want the best picture quality possible with this TV.

Can anyone recommend a 30 meter cable they have had success with, I suspect I will get suggestions to use and optical HDMI cable, but I'm hesitant around these as I assume they will introduce latency.

Any advise appreciated.

I'm using one of these at home and have no issues getting 4k60 with our Series X

Yep as linked above, wouldn't use anything except one of the optical HMDI 2.1 cables.

Any kind of 'hdmi over cat6' adapter is trash. I've used so many different kinds over the years and there is always some stupid gotcha with them.

+1 on the optical HDMI. That one you were linked to by Andib should be sweet. Buy once, cry once.

Edit - for what they do, they really aren't that dear anyway when you look at the other options.

My advice...

Get a cable that is 100% certified to handle the jandle by HDMI org.

They have a QR scan code on the front of the packaging, you can then go to HDMI's website and confirm it matches your cable.

I have heard many, many, many, many horror stories - and expect to hear many, many more from people who buy the best bang for buck cable.

I know of one brand sold through electrical wholesalers that has a QR code on the front... that doesn't actually go anywhere when scanned. It's just there because people are wising up and learning to look for a QR code.

To pass the new standards you have to pass a LOT of HDMI eye tests, with testing being both long and arduous, many companies are skipping the process and 'marketing their way through it'.

They don't just have to pass @ 48Gbps as many will handle that, but fail at 24Gbps or 10... but pass at 30Gbps.

It's not a simple 'any cable will work' scenario anymore.

Sorry for not having a brand recommendation - but even some cables within a manufacturers have achieved certification while shorter or longer cables have not...

Fun times :-)
