Hi all,

I'm pretty keen to get my Wii hooked up to my computer so that i can play it on here. I currently have a HVR-2000 and this cable. However I am stuck at this point. Can anyone be of assistance?

Thanks,
Matthew

What are you using for a screen? Why aren't you just plugging the Wii into the display or are you wanting to record your gameplay?

What software are you using?

I have an AOC 2216Vw. I don't think the correct cables exist to hook a wii up to a monitir, or at the very least they're V/ expensive.

I currently use Mediaportal to watch TV, but I'm not sure if that can be used for my purposes.

based on a quick google it would appear that you can get a component cable for the wii and then run it into the VGA D-SUB in the LCD using a component-to-VGA converter

see: http://www.wiitalk.co.uk/forums/wii-hardware-discussion/2053-any-way-connect-wii-pc-monitor.html

as for the comment about "lag": i expect it was meant that there would be too much lag from the wii to the hvr then from the hvr to the screen so that your controller would appear to be 'out-of-sync' with the picture (and therefore your gaming experience would suck)
