Guys, I`ve got a HVR-1200 hybrid tuner (software decoding), it came with Powercinema 5, which I use when I want to record something off the Sky STB. It`s connected via S-video and 2 audios. Everything works flawlessly, except I can`t manage to get Powercinema to schedule my recordings. I set the start and end times, select the source, but when the time comes, nothing at all happens. No recording takes place.

Normally I use KMPlayer for watching Sky, but that one has no scheduling features at all. I tried a few video capturing programs, some of which were good, except that they don`t read the audio that comes from Sky. So at the moment I`m pretty much clueless.

What do you guys think? Why won`t Powercinema do the scheduling right? Is there any other analog tv tuner software I could try? Having no hardware encoding, I think my options are limited.

No I haven`t because apparently GB-PVR requires a hardware MPEG2 encoder card. Mine is not one.

But I suppoose it doesn`t hurt to try, so I`ll do so, just in case.

I don't know about the HVR1200 in particular (since I don't have one) but GB-PVR works fine with other Hauppauge cards that don't have hardware encoding providing you have the Hauppauge SoftMCE encoder installed. Works fine with my HVR3000 when I briefly played with it.

I`ve tried it today and I managed to watch Sky through it, but I had no luck with recordings, 0 byte files get created all the time.
