Hello All.

Firstly sorry for starting a whole thread on my second ever posting. However, I have searched with no sucess so I thought I'd just throw this question out there.

Could some kind soul upload a few sample WTV files recorded using Windows 7, of New Zealand DVB-T broadcasts? Ideally 30 seconds of progressive, and the (ATI) dreaded interlaced content?

I am aware of the sample transport stream files, however I feel to do real testing I'm going to need WTV format files to drop into my Recorded TV folder.

I am asking as I am on a very tight budget, and don't want to invest in a DVB-T tuner, and spend days checking the cable quality and orientation of my UHF aerial, only to find I'm on a fools errand trying to get this working.

Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can assist me with this.

Cheers

-Glyn

Well that went surprisingly well, especially given my unusual rig. the file played well after an initial hiccup. first play in media centre stuttered a couple of times, then I tried media player. Blue Screened. After that very reliable playback with full DXVA hardware acceleration. Ok, specs time. I am using a P4 3.2Ghz, with an unusual ATI HD3450 AGP card
I have jammed the vista drivers on the machine as windows 7 doesn't have a driver for the AGP version of my graphics card.
Is this sample file interlaced? I ask as most ATI owners are complaining that these channels don't work. It seems special to me as it has an unusual description, and carries no station watermark. Either way this is encouraging as I might be able to combine some DVB-T HD content to go with my SD cable TV channels at last :-)
If anyone else can offer a bit more content to test with I would be delighted.

This forum has been great, as a long time greenbutton.com user it's nice to find some local information for a change!

Cheers

I'm uploading a 35 sec TV3 clip now. Will take half an hour or so on my plan (it's 48MB). It's not a true HD recording but is still 1080i so will hopefully do then job. Will send a link when complete.

Sorry took a bit longer than I thought (not helped by losingthe connection part way through the first attempt)

Hopefully you should be able to download it with this skydrive link.

The clip is a bit jerky at the start - mainly as it was recorded on my laptop which does not have a great aerial.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the test file, Matt. The file played perfectly, no signs of combing even. Now to find a decent DVB-T tuner for a nice low price :-)
