I am looking into getting a new TV. I have a 50 " 3LCD at the moment and looking up upgrade to a 52" Sony if possible.

Looking at the moment.. even for the same TV there is a HUGE price difference.

Yes there is a HUGE difference for the same TV.

There are 5 different 52" Sony's at the moment.

KDL52EX1 What makes this one soo expensive compared to the rest?
KDL52Z4500
KDL52W4500
KDL52W4000
KDL52V5500

So which one should someone get .. good/bad things about each? I presume the Z series is the "best" ..

Am I missing something or does LV Martin prices of most of their TV's alot cheaper than most other people?

KDL52EX1 has a built in Hybrid tuner and a better panel. LV Martin prices are good.

Do whatever you want to do man.

All models from the V series up have hybrid digital (freeview) / analog tuners.

I got mine from JB Hifi as at the time they had a better price than anyone else I could find, so you might want to check their pricing if there's one in your area.

I don't see enough quality difference between the W and the Z series to justify the price, so you'd have to make judgement based on the relative features and connectivity unless you're a lot pickier than I am. The picture quality on either is extremely good.

The V is also perfectly good, but I'd go straight to the W's if you are going to be running any amount of 1080p through it as the V isn't as sharp and seems to suffer from hi-def judder.

LV's prices do tend to be fairly reasonable, I've also found that Harvey Norman (who seem to have almost monthly sales on TV's) tend to be fairly well priced too.

The EX is the sort of TV that you build your lounge around and the extra expense would be wasted if installed as a normal bench-top TV. It has 1080i (NOT P) wireless support so you can mount the TV on the wall with only a power cord and connect all the devices to a transmitted hidden nearby and pipe the output to it. Sounds like a great idea, no idea how well it works. A lot of extra money for a potential gimmick.
